Medicinal plants used against anxiety and hypertension by the indigenous people of Sargodha division and allied areas, Pakistan

Background: Anxiety and hypertension are the most severe forms of human psychiatric conditions. Many plants blessed with medicinal properties to treat anxiety hypertension, but very little knowledge is available about such used by various ethnic communities Pakistan. This study presents first report on among local Sargodha division allied areas, using quantitative ethnobotanical indices. Methods: Ethno-medicinal data was collected from aboriginal households who still practice their system medicine. Information each potential plant its mode use were documented indices frequency citation (FR), preference ranking (PR), percentage respondents having (PRK) species relative (RFC). Results: A total 57 taxa belonging 36 families reported. The highest life form herbs (80%). dominant parts leaves utilization paste decoction. Highest (RFC) values Matricaria chamomilla (0.23) while high proportion reported for (23.75%). noted in (19%). Conclusions: Our has revealed an intimate relationship between indigenous flora livelihood people. We hope that information presented this paper could be as a baseline scientifically verify therapeutic associated bioactive compounds present enlisted hypertension.
